GENERAL INFORMATION
Putting on a regatta is an impressive undertaking, and involves the
support of dozens of crew supporters. These supporters are usually
volunteers and, for the most part, come from the ranks of the parents of
rowers. NCASRA regattas require a minimum level of participation from each
of the member schools. Volunteering to support a NCASRA regatta can be a lot
of fun and offers a great way to understand what your son or daughter is
doing when he or she is participating in crew. Some of the crew positions
actually put you in "the best seat in the house" for a regatta!! For each of
the NCASRA regattas, Hylton Crew will be assigned a certain number of
volunteer positions to fill. Although Hylton Crew is fortunate to have a
cadre of parents who, even though their sons and daughters have graduated
from the ranks of Hylton crew, continue to volunteer, Hylton crew needs your
support to keep Hylton Crew a viable means to ensure our sons and daughters
are able to participate in one of the most rewarding, fulfilling, and
promising sports available today.
The Hylton Boosters Club
Volunteer Coordinator has the responsibility to ensure that Hylton
volunteer positions are filled for each of the NCASRA regattas. The Hylton
Volunteer coordinator will provide a sign up sheet at the Fall and Spring
Crew Call-out and will also be contacting the rowers and their parents via
e-mail to arrange for volunteers to fill the available positions.
There are a myriad of volunteer positions available for each NCASRA
regatta. Each have their own particular set of instructions (which may vary
depending on the particular venue of the regatta that is being held). We
have included a list of volunteer position descriptions to help you get an
idea of what you may be involved in when you sign up to volunteer (and to
help you understand which positions offer the best vantage point to enjoy
the sport of crew and you son or daughters' participation!). Please click on
the link below to see what the positions are and a little bit about each.
Please remember, volunteering is a great way to support your son or
daughter's involvement in a highly rewarding sport and is a lot of fun too!
Make sure you check out the duty positions and the
upcoming
opportunities!
See you at the races!
