Boathouse Information
Oxford Boathouse (Also called "the house") is located at the northern end
of Lake
Ridge Park about 3 miles west of the Occoquan dam. The house is
shared by several of the Prince William high schools:
- Hylton
- Potomac
- Forest Park
- Gar-Field
- Woodbridge
The house was built in 1988 predominately by volunteer labor after lots
of fundraising. Anyone who could swing a hammer was welcome! It
was recently expanded (winter 2004-2005) to hold more shells.
In addition to the house itself, there are 3 docks for use by the
schools:
- Two large docks where shells launch and recover
- One smaller dock for the launches
Directions to the house can be found
here.
NOTE: Parents and rowers must park in the upper parking lot.
No
rower/parent parking or drop off is authorized in the parking lot next to
the boathouse (per the Lake Ridge Park Authority). Please help us maintain a
good relationship with the Park Authority and follow this requirement. Thank
You!
Here is an aerial photo of the house. The house is the building just below the "v"
shaped docks in the middle of the photo.
